It’s best that you list your eBook for sale on Lulu.com and the Amazon Kindle Store. The more sites you sell your eBooks on, the better. You reach a larger market and increase your earnings. It’s not difficult at all to list your eBooks on Amazon or Lulu Books; the process is about the same. If you go with Lulu, all you need to do is create a user account and then log on. To sell your eBook on Amazon, go to kdp.amazon.com. Create a free account. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the link titled “Self-Publish with us.” Choose ‘Amazon Kindle’ on the next page. You’ll be redirected to their digital text platform; this will take you to Amazon’s digital book platform. In order to read eBooks on any of the Kindle devices, you have to format your book to digital text. Once you upload a properly formatted file, it will be converted automatically. If there are no issues, next you need to provide a description and set a price for your book.
The fact that it is so easy to list your book on Amazon or Lulu Books, you can go with whichever one you want first. It does not matter. The entire process should take you less than one hour for each site. In fact, spend a day and do one right after the other. As a matter of fact, you can upload as many books as you want if time permits; doing this will let you have your books available to be sold on both sites at once.
As it pertains to marketing, you don’t have to worry. Both Amazon.com and Lulu.com are popular and well-marketed websites. However, you should also establish your own book promotion strategy. For example, you can do so with a catchy sales page, links to your eBook pages, message boards and more. Market both websites, but spend the most time doing so with Lulu.com. With Lulu Books, you keep a greater share of the profit as opposed to Amazon.
As previously stated; the Kindle is one of the top eBook readers on the market. Despite its popularity, not everybody has one. Thus, your market will only target this section of buyers. That doesn’t mean you don’t need to do any marketing for your Amazon Kindle Book, you do. But you also don’t want to leave your PDF e-book on Lulu.com without any sales. Because many people can buy their eBooks from other sites without needing an eReader and use their computer or tablet, your odds of earning money are greater listing on Lulu.
